Hi, I’m Kev Orme, and I’m delighted to serve as the Chairman of the Management Committee for The BIG Project. I began as a volunteer in 2018 and became the Youth and Children's Worker in 2022. In 2023, I left this role to focus on my business, Kev’s Class Tutoring, but my commitment to The BIG Project remains unwavering.
Being voted in as Chairman is a privilege, and I am dedicated to supporting The BIG Project to thrive and adapt to the evolving needs of our young people. My goal is to build on the strong foundation laid over the past two decades, ensuring our programmes continue to make a lasting impact on the Broomhouse community while embracing everything the digital landscape has to offer.
Together with our dedicated team, committee members and supportive community, I am excited to continue fostering an environment where our young people can flourish. Thank you for your trust and support as we move forward together.

I have lived in Broomhouse all of my life and attended the BIG Project as a child and wanted to give back to this organisation which had such a positive impact on my life.

I became a Sighthill Gorgie councillor in 2012 and joined The BIG Project shortly after and have remained on the Board of Management since. It has been a fantastic experience working with the other Board members and the members of staff and volunteers who give so much for the children and young people of Broomhouse, Sighthill and Saughton. I am the only politician on the Board and look forward to completing my next term with the BIG Project and assisting in the funding process whenever possible.

I have been supporting the big project since the summer of 2020 then formally joined the board in Nov 21. In my NHS career I have always worked with children and their families, initially as a Speech Therapist and now in my Partnership role across both Children’s and Women’s services.
It is great to share and be part of a project that gives so much to the children of the local community

As an AI Engineer I'm particularly drawn to this role as it allows me to leverage my experience in community building and Teens development on the management committee.

I became part of the Broomhouse Community over 21 years ago when I joined Broomhouse Primary School as a class teacher. I have been the Depute Head at Broomhouse Primary for the last 6 years. During this time, I have seen the area develop and grow and now have children that I taught as a teacher bringing their children here.
I have been a member of the BIG Project Management Committee since 2017, have seen the impact that the BIG Project has had on our community, and appreciate the support they provide for the families. That is why I am pleased to be part of BIG Project and the Broomhouse Community.
