Management Committee

  • As a member of Rotary International I worked closely with the BIG Project in organising, resourcing, and funding of events. My experience in running my own business and being in the RAF to The BIG Project. Upon leaving Rotary I joined The BIG Project as a member of the Management Committee and my experience in running my own business and being in the RAF has been invaluable in my rope as Chairperson.

  • I have lived in Broomhouse with my family for the past 18 years and have been a member of the BIG Project committee for the past 7 years, seeing for myself all of the great work that the staff and volunteers do for the kids in the local community and surrounding area.

Both my children have attended clubs at the BIG Project, and my son now volunteers at two of the clubs, and my daughter attends the Senior club. I strongly believe that they have both got so much out of these clubs, frombuilding their self confidence by appearing The Drama performances, to teaching them the value of working in teams when playing games and so much more. I look forward to working with the BIG Project in the coming years.

  • I am the Secretary on The Management Committee but my day job is working as a nurse in public health. Previously, I was Secretary of an Edinburgh Trampoline club for four years. I am the Child Protection Officer for a local swim club and have spent time volunteering for Girl Guiding Scotland. I love being active and climbing Munros. Supporting Sascha, the staff team and The Project particularly during The Pandemic has been brilliant.

  • I have lived in Broomhouse all of my life and attended the BIG Project as a child and wanted to give back to this organisation which had such a positive impact on my life.

  • I became a Sighthill Gorgie councillor in 2012 and joined The BIG Project shortly after and have remained on the Board of Management since. It has been a fantastic experience working with the other Board members and the members of staff and volunteers who give so much for the children and young people of Broomhouse, Sighthill and Saughton. I am the only politician on the Board and look forward to completing my next term with the BIG Project and assisting in the funding process whenever possible.

  • I became part of the Broomhouse Community over 21 years ago when I joined Broomhouse Primary School as a class teacher. I have been the Depute Head at Broomhouse Primary for the last 6 years.
