The BIG Project on The One Show!
The BIG Project will be featured on The One Show, this Friday night, 18th May 2012, at 7 pm. Watch out for us during a feature all about the Olympic Torch and its journey around the UK - in Edinburgh, we'll be part of the Castle Celebrations when the Torch comes to rest in Edinburgh for the night.
The BIG Project to perform at Edinburgh Castle!
The BIG Project Youth Choir have been invited to perform part of our BIG Breakthrough show for the Olympic Torch Celebrations at Edinburgh Castle on Wednesday 13th June - it's a real honour, and very exciting - we'll be sharing the bill with Emeli Sande!
We'll be joined by Karine Polwart and a host of talented musicians, to perform two ten minute sets featuring a potted version of the Breakthrough commission written by Kim Edgar about the Olympic and Paralympic values, and we'll also perform Kim's song, "8, 9, 10", Karine's song, "I'm Gonna Do It All" and "Moving On Up" by Primal Scream.
Tickets became available to the public this morning - they're only 80p per ticket and you can get up to 6 tickets per household, if you fancy coming along, by phoning 08444999990 or going online to www.ticketmaster.co.uk - if you search for Emeli Sande in the top button it's the first gig to come up!

We were invited to visit the wonderful Watercolour Studios during our recent trip to Hopscotch Holidays in Ardgour, where Nick Turner and Mary Ann Kennedy delighted us with tales of adventures in recording and broadcasting! And we recorded our own potted version of "Don't Stop Believin' " while were were there...
The BIG Breakthrough at Celtic Connections!!
In our most ambitious singing project to date, with funding support from Creative Scotland, The BIG Project, along with several choirs and many professional musicians, will be performing a brand new commission written by singer songwriter Kim Edgar, in celebration of Olympic and Paralympic values, at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and The Mitchell Library on Monday 23rd January 2012.

After wow-ing Queen’s Hall audiences in 2010, The BIG Project returns with another exciting addition to this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe - an interactive sing-a-long show, led by children and young people, aged 5 – 18 years, ably supported by Karine Polwart (vocals), Steven Polwart (guitar), Kim Edgar (piano/vocals), Kevin McGuire (bass) and Jim Gash (drums).

BIG Sing guests for Fundraising Concert
The BIG Sing are pleased to have been invited to perform with Sangstream community choir to fundraise for the MS Therapy Centre.
BIG Sing choir at Music Learning Live Conference!
On Thursday 3rd March, children from The BIG Sing choir will be teaching music professionals a thing or two - at the Music Learning Live! conference held in the RSAMD, Glasgow.
With the first workshop of the conference, the BIG Sing members will encourage the grown ups to try hilarious warm ups for their bodies and voices, sing in rounds, create new song lyrics on the spot, and learn unique “mash-ups” from pop and chart hits - overlaying two or more songs to create a fresh new sound.
